God was manifest in the flesh (1Tim. 3:16) to shed his sinless blood and redeem those that repent. It is commanded by Jesus (a repentant heart obeys commands) to be baptized in His name (Matt. 28:19). This is for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38). The blood of Jesus is not applied to a person’s life until they have been baptized (immersed in water) in the name of Jesus (there is none other name Acts 4:12). If His blood is not applied in this way to a repentant heart there is no entrance into the kingdom of God (Mark 16:16, John 3:5, 1Pet 3:21). Those that have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Gal. 3:27) The sole purpose of Jesus’ ministry on earth was to redeem those that love Him. This was done through His death, His shed blood at the cross (Heb. 9:22) remits sin (the wages of sin is death Rom. 6:23, Prov. 10:16) Furthermore, to preach Jesus without preaching baptism in His name would not be preaching the same Jesus of the bible. Jesus being without sin was illegally put to death, for death is for those who sin and are without atonement. Satan who had this power of death broke the words of God spoken back at the garden (Gen. 3:1-4) and the law “the soul that sinneth shall die” (Ezek. 18:4) and by breaking this contract; putting Jesus to death, Satan was destroyed (Heb. 2:14). The death contract was made null and void making it possible for those who obey the Gospel of Jesus to live eternally in the presence of a holy, almighty God, JESUS. To repent and be baptized is not all. In John 3:5 Jesus said to be born of the “water and spirit”. Entrance into the kingdom includes both of these. He commanded his disciples to tarry in Jerusalem and wait for the promise, which is the baptism of the Holy Ghost or to be born of the Spirit. This baptism of the Holy Ghost is not optional. If a person does not have the Spirit of God that person is not God’s (Rom. 8:9) and nobody can call Jesus,” Lord” but by the Holy Ghost (1Cor. 12:13). With His Spirit in us we can do what He says (Luke 6:46). With His spirit in us we can mortify the deeds of the flesh. (Rom. 8:13) With His spirit in us we can walk in the Spirit and by doing so we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh which leads to death (Gal 5:16). With the empowerment of His Spirit in us we can be holy as He is holy (1Pet. 1:16, Heb. 12:14) With His spirit in us we have the power to be the sons of God (John 1:12); to do by nature (Rom. 2:14) that which is pleasing to God for he has caused us to walk in His statutes; (Ezek. 36:27) entering into His rest and ceasing from our works (Heb. 4:9-11, Matt. 11:28). If you are someone who loves God, wants to be pleasing to God and wants all that God has for you. Then search the scriptures and line yourself up with the word. What does the scripture say about the baptism of the Holy Ghost? How is a person to know whether or not they have been baptized with the Holy Ghost? We look to the scripture. We line ourselves up with the scripture. Read Acts 2, 10, and 19. Upon receiving the Holy Ghost they spoke in a language not acquired by learning but by the spirit of God giving the utterance or in other words they spoke in tongues. The baptism of Holy Ghost, “as experienced in the bible” is available for us today for we are those who are afar off from that time (Acts 2:39). Everyone is to receive the Holy Ghost for it is for those who are called and for as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts 2:39). The Lord wants to give His spirit to those who will obey Him (Acts 5:32). If you have repented but have yet to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost as they did in the book of Acts, ask Him, seek and you shall find, it is a gift that is promised to you (Luke 11:10-13). Once you have been obedient to the gospel and have the baptism of the Holy Ghost, daily pray with understanding, daily pray in the Holy Ghost, daily walk in the Spirit, bear fruit, grow in the knowledge of the Lord (2pet. 1:3-10), hide His word in your heart. Endure unto the end, finishing the race! For further study click on the link: THE GOSPEL
